Family Planning

There are fourteen physicians and 50 beds in the Department of Family Planning. Each year,there are about 34,000 outpatient visits and 13,000 operations, such as IUDs insertion and removal, induced abortion, female sterilization and reversal of tubul sterilization. Laparoscopic techniques for tubal sterilization are available. The division also provides counseling on contraception ,medical abortion and post abortion care. This department is also the teaching center of the family planning technique in Zhejiang province. Many doctors from different parts of the province come here for further studies. There are four postgraduatesdoing research here in 2003. Some research programs, such as " Study of the mechanism of abnormal uterine hemorrhage after medical abortion by mifepristone and misopristol " and " Study of the management of the side effect of IUD ", have been awarded prizes at provincial level. More than thirty articles have been published by the staff member.
