Women's Health

The Department of Women's Health Care is the center of health care, obstetric and gynecological disease treatment, teaching, research, training, and statistics on maternity and child health information in our province. The department was set up in the early 1970's. At the beginning common gynecological diseases screening and perinatal health care were its chief concern .In the 1980's, as the provincial MCH net-work was built, the department focused its attention on the training of primary MCH workers and cooperated with such international organizations as UNCEF, WHO for improving maternal and child health and family planning service in the province. In the 1990's the department further expanded its traditional functions. A new service system has been put into operatin,covering women's social, psychological and physical diseases. Special clinics for the diagnosis and treatment of menopausal, adolescent, pre-marrital disorders have been opened for the public. Besides making contribution to women's health care throughout the provice, the department provides statistics on relevant information which serves as basis for governmental policy-making. In the 21st century when people are paying increasing attention to their health, the Department of Women's Health Care is ever ready to offer physiological, psychological and social health care services to women in all walks of life.
