Anesthesia

As one of the importment clinical units in the hospital,the Department of anesthesia is in charge of such tasks as clinical anesthesia,first-aid resuscitation for critical disease and pain-treatment. It has a staff of 21, including 2 with associate chief doctor, 9 with attending doctor, and 2 anesthesia nurses.

The Department of Anesthesia & Operation Room has twelve operation rooms and one postoperative recovery room which are equipped with the most advanced apparatus, such as Omeda and Drage multiple-functional anesthesia machines, Omeda-Detex, Marquett multiple-functional invasive or noninvasive monitors, and I-STAT fast blood monitors for blood glucose and electrolytes. All twelve-work room has air cleaning by laminar flow and auto-thermoregulation. There are thirty to fifty operations everyday and up to ten thousand every year.

The department's anesthesia techniques in gynecology and obstetrics are the best in our province. The anesthesiologists here can deal with all kinds of anesthesia in gynecology and obstetrics, They have engaged in profound theoretic studies of and accumulated rich experience, in obstetrics anesthesia, such as the combined use of drugs in obstetrics general anesthesia, and the influence of general anesthesia on infants. They have found an ideal way to carry out obstetric general anesthesia. In the past few years, They have made great progress in pain-treatment, including post-operative analgesia, labor analgesia and abortion analgesia, especially labor analgesia. Various methods, such as nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia and combined spinal-epidural analgesia have been widely used in the department.

Besides general operation of obstetrics and gynecology, the operation room performanced anastomosis of fallopian tube under microscope, follicle puncture, embryo transplantation and artificial fecundation. Recently celioscope were widely developed and brought relief to various gynecological patients. Celioscope operation has been used in diagnosis and therapy of trophoblastic tumor, endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, sterility, uterine tumor and ovarian cyst, since the first time American Celioscope Operation Association delegates came to our hospital to train our operators in 1979. Hysteroscopy operation was used in not only diagnoses and therapy of abnormal bleeding from uterus and uterine disease, but also various gynecological reshaping operations.
