Pathology

The department of pathology was founded in 1985, and now comes into the most large-scale and time-honored obstetric and gynecological pathological center in Zhejiang Province after 40 year's development. The pathology department has traditional emphasized excellence in diagnostic level, medical technical and well-managed dates. The are accumulative 300,000 accumulated pathological samples which contribute to the clinic, teaching and scientific research. The department was ranked as one of the first group of pathological diagnoses and technology double training centers, and achieved high evaluation in the pathological quality control inspection of Zhejiang Province in the past few years. The department contains 3 senior doctors, including the chief physician Zhao Chenluo, who is a known expert of obstetric gynecological pathology. Dr. Zhao has been working in the pathological field for more than 40 years, with comprehensive theory basis and clinical experience, and always ardently accepts consultation from other hospitals. Provided with advanced apparatus, the pathology department offers comprehensive service items, such as pathological histological diagnosis, perinatal baby autopsy, placenta pathology, rapid frost diagnosis, several special coloration, tens of immune his tochemical method, oncogene examination, in-situ hybridization, computer image analysis, cytological examination and hormone test of vaginal smear. Recently we developed cervical/vaginal cytological TBS diagnosis, DNA test and cellular cycle analysis, as well as ultrastructure and ultra-cytocheical examination under electromicroscope. More than 20 research programmers in the nation or Zhejiang Province, including the family planning 7.5 and 8.5 tackle key problem, have been undertaken or cooperated by the department of pathology. Among them, the program of "Endometrial histological observation of long acting contraceptive" won the second prize of scientific development by the Ministry of Health; the programmer of "Histochemical research of IUD endometrial enzyme" won the second prize of scientific development by national scientific and technological department; the programmer of "Histology and ultrastructure observe of in-situ endometrium and ectoendometrium" won the second prize of scientific development by the scientific and technological department of Zhejiang Province; the programmer of "clinical and basic research of trophoblastic tumor" won the third prize of scientific development by the scientific and technological department of Zhejiang Province; and the programmer of "The fluency of ovarian function by ACM chemotherapy in trophoblastic tumor" won the third prize of medical scientific development by Zhejiang Province. The pathology department has taken up the task for postgraduate student training, and several of papers were published in scientific journals of different levels
