The Department of Radiology, set up in 1952, has a staff of 12 experienced medical professionals at different levels. It is furnished with first-class equipment, including a high-performance X-ray machine (USA), a multi-functional digital gastro-intestinal X-ray machine, a CT, 3-D Spiral (GE, USA), a high frequency X-ray Breast Imaging Unit (Italy) and an advanced image processing system. In offering routine X-ray imaging services, the Department is characterized by gynecological disease diagnosis with X-ray image and CT scan. The staff's skilful operation in hysterosalpingography and tube recanalization for the treatment of fallopian tube occlusion , and in CT diagnosis of gynecological tumors and pelvic masses are first-rate in the Province. Since introduction of the high frequency X-ray Breast Imaging Unit , the Department has greatly raised its efficiency in the diagnosis of breast cancer. The image examination made by the Unit is highly reliable. The Department provides services to nearly 50,000 patients a year.Yet the staff members are not satisfied with what they have done. They are determind to work still harder,and strive to develop new advanced medical techniques,so as to provide satisfying services to their patients.
